Chicken Curry
Simple Chicken Curry for Beginners
Ingredients
- Chicken- 1/2 kg - Onion, roughly chopped- 2 medium - Ginger, crushed- 2 tsp - Garlic, crushed- 2 tsp - Tomatoes, roughly chopped- 2medium - Green chilies, thickly chopped- 3 nos. - Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp - Red Chili Powder- 1.5 tsp Metha, coriander - Homemade chicken masala-1tsp - Salt- 1.5 tsp - Refined Oil- 4-5 tbsp.
Homemade masala
-star Anise-1,shah jeera-half spoon, black pepper-3, mace-1cinnamon-small brick, bay leaves-1, Green cardamon-3, cloves-3.
-take a pan heat it turns to flow flame add all the dry masalas and fry them well gently for 3 minutes.
-Turn off the stove Once the masalas get cool down, take a mixed jar to make their powder.
- Masala only for half kg chicken if you are cooking more quantity also increases the masalas.
Cooking process
- Heat oil in a pan or kadai and add the chopped onions. - Fry on high heat for 10 mins till brown in color. - Add the crushed ginger and garlic and fry on medium heat for 2 mins. - Add the chopped tomatoes and green chilies and fry on medium heat for 2 mins. - Add the turmeric powder and mix & fry on medium heat for around 3 minutes till tomatoes are soft. - Now add the chicken pieces and fry on high heat for 2-3 minutes till the chicken pieces are browned. - Add the readymade chicken masala, red Chili powder, and salt, mix, and on high heat for 5 mins. Continue to fry on medium heat for another 5 mins. - Now add 300 ml water and cook on low heat for around 20 mins till the chicken pieces are tender and the oil separates add Metha, and coriander.
-Can serve with rice or pulka, paratha, jeera rice
